HOW ARE YOU FEELING, MOMMA?
(You don’t need to say, “I’m Fine.”)
Do you or a fellow Momma need some heart encouragement?
As moms, we deal with emotional overload—often pretending to be ‘fine' even when we’re not. My dear friend, Lisa Leshaw, and I want you to know your're not alone in how you feel. Our personal and candid reflections on 31 mom feelings meet you where you’re at while inspiring you to embrace your emotions and match the pleadings in the Psalms to the pleadings in your soul.
My daughter Pure_kahrin (Happy 22nd bday today!) is off changing the world for the next 5 weeks with her friend Katie O’Connell These two kindred spirits are traveling around the country spreading gratitude and authentic connection through a movement called ODE. Here’s the gist below in my daughter’s words. I encourage all of you to follow along their journey and share your stories/ODEs as well on their website mylifeanode.com and on IG @mylifeanode Something beautiful is already underway. You can see the video manifesto about their movement on IG and website.
From Kahrin: A dear friend of mine, Katie, and I spent our final semester of college discussing our belief that there is simply SO much to be grateful for, yet we often overlook it because we are either too busy, too tired, too hurt, too cynical, or too inattentive. We feel that joy, beauty, and wonder are all around us… all we have to do is look! So we created a small project at John Carroll that asked our senior class to share w/ us some aspect of the university they were grateful for. We called it ODE to JCU. Its purpose was to invite our peers to slow down, reflect, and give thanks to all types of people, places, and moments – the grand ones all the way down to the most minuscule of ones. We soon realized that this call to intentional living could serve a much larger audience and thus ODE was born. This movement takes the form of a paired visual and written expression of thanks: a poem and a photo, a video and a short story, a sketch and a stream of consciousness.
So now… Here we are a month later out in Seattle for the beginning of our 5-week road trip out west to spread this message of gratitude. We are traveling from Seattle down the west coast, cutting across Nevada into Colorado, and up through Wyoming into Montana to meet and invite as many humans as possible to join us on this mission for gratefulness.
We’ll be posting our ODES along the way on IG @mylifeanode. BUT!! This is not just our project. It is yours. It is hers. It is his. It is meant for everyone. So we encourage you to participate & submit your own ODE on our website mylifeanode.com, and invite those in your network to do the same. If you share with 3 people and they share with 3 people, the ripple effect is exponential.
